Replacing the original house on the site 'Falconers', which was tragically destroyed in a fire in February 2008, this house will be one of the most sustainable residential buildings in the UK when completed. As the environmental editor of the Independent newspaper Mr. Lean is a true authority on the need for low-energy development. The new house will meet level five of the Code for Sustainable Homes when completed, with a planned future conversion to level six and carbon neutrality. The design achieves this whilst re-creating the Arts and Crafts motifs of the original house through advanced computer modeling.
